Sapper, Royal Engineers, Naval Division, May 1915 ; 2nd Lieutenant, Rifle Brigade., May 1917, transferred Royal Air Force, 1918. Served- Gallipoli, Greece, France, Home, France and Belgium, Home, France, Home, August 1915-March 1919. Final rank, Lieutenant. Distinguished Flying Cross. War work-North Russian Relief Force, R.A.F. (Voluntary), May-October 1919.
