Biography: Son of Thomas Hilson; born Aberdeen, 15 June 1896. M.A., 1919. Private, 4th Gordon Highlanders, October 1915; attached 2nd Seaforth Highlanders, Royal Engineers (Field Survey Company). Served-Home, France, Home, Mesopotamia, India, Palestine, October 1915-January 1919. Final rank, Sapper.
