Biography

Poet. Admitted King's Coll., 1618, proceeded M.A., 1622. Regent, 1625. Humanist, 1629. "Professor of humanity in the university of Aberdeen", 1631. Doctor of divinity, 1631. Secretly subscribed the national covenant, 1638. Subscribed the King's covenant 1639. Dean of the faculty of philosophy, 1640. Wrote the dedicatory poem prefixed to Bishop Forbes' Funerals. LOC says died 1652, when some of his library was sold, but according to DNB is recorded in council minutes as baillie of Aberdeen til 1655.
