Business School Teaching Seminar Series 2013:2 - Managers in the 21st Century: What attributes do employers want from University of Aberdeen graduates and how can academics better meet their needs?

John Tomlinson has wide ranging experience as a professional manager through holding leadership positions in public, private and third sector organisations. For 14 years of his career John held Director positions in the public sector, most recently as Director of Education, Culture and Sport with Aberdeen City Council. Currently, he is concluding his role as General Manager of a supply company in the oil and gas sector. John is the current Chairperson of Aberdeen Council of Voluntary Organisations and also undertakes a range of consultancy and executive coaching assignments through his own company. Drawing on what he has learnt (successes and mistakes) he brings passion and skill in helping individuals and organisations raise their performance levels.
