Prayer, Domine deus omnipotens, continued.



She asks the crucified God, through his five wounds and the pain that entered his heart, to guard her from sin, that she may withstand and survive the assaults of her enemies.

Ideo rogo te qui in cruce stetisti sanguineus\ et dolorosus, Per quinque vulnera tua et per dolorem\ qui de venis tuis perforatis ad cor processit ut con\servare me digneris ne cadam ad peccata. Prayer, Domine deus omnipotens qui omnes.



A prayer of St Bridget to Jesus Christ, who suffered the pain of the nails in his hands and feet for her salvation. She asks that he may enter her heart and strengthen it with love; that through the nails and the spear which were removed from his body, he may remove from her heart the love of all things displeasing to him.


Tu vere et vive Ihesu Christe fili dei\ ac virginis qui vivus voluntarie\ clavos sensisti manus et pedes tuos\ amarissime penetrare pro salute anime mee. Dig\nare piissime domine intrare in cor meum et in eo fir\mari cum ardenti caritate. Rogo te eciam o amantis\sime redemptor per clavos et lanceam que de\ corpore tuo mortuo extrahebantur virtuosissimo\ corde tuo crudeliter sauciato. Extrahe de corde meo\ omnium illarum rerum dilectionem que tue displicent ca\ritati. Amen.
