Skype for Business is a cloud hosted instant messaging service included with MS Office 365. Staff can use Skype for Business to communicate and collaborate easily with others using a range of communication options*, including:

  • instant messaging
  • voice over IP calls (not currently available to University users)
  • online collaboration
  • video conferencing
  • desktop, application and document sharing
  • virtual white board
* Some options are limited when communicating with personal Skype users, e.g. desktop sharing and multi-person instant meetings. In order to use these features you must set up an online meeting via Outlook.
