Understanding copyright on our VLE
Whenever you use copyright material on MyAberdeen, you need to be aware of how and when you can use a work under the terms of copyright law (The Copyright Designs and Patents Act 1988). The law provides a number of copyright exceptions for education, but there are restrictions on how and when these may be used.
Sometimes you need to rely on a licence to be able to use copyright material, and on other occasions, you’ll need the copyright holder’s permission before you can re-use their work. However you use copyright material in MyAberdeen, you’ll need to be sure you use it lawfully.
