VIDEO: Record crowds for May Festival 2015

This year's May Festival was officially the most successful to date, with more than 10,500 visitors attending events across all campuses.

The bumper programme boasted more than 120 events for all ages across a number of themes including books, music, film, science, food, history, nature and sport.

“I’m delighted that this year’s May Festival was officially the biggest and best yet,” says Head of Events, Festivals and Public Engagement with Research, Dr Kenneth Skeldon.

“The feedback we’ve received suggests this was the best mix of events for the festival so far and we were delighted to see strong attendances across all the themes.

“I’d like to thank everyone involved for their tireless work in organising, co-ordinating, publicising the festival as well as all our academics and invited guests who delivered the fantastic events and our excellent volunteers who give up their time to ensure it’s a success.

“The May Festival is a hugely important vehicle for promoting what we as a University do in terms of research, innovation, creativity and teaching and learning, and how it relates to wider society. It also gives the different publics and stakeholders a chance to influence and shape the research questions that our academics are tackling.”
