More information about the Turing Scheme coming soon....
Please note that the UK's participation in the Erasmus programme will continue until the end of any currently active projects. Therefore, students can continue to participate in exchange through the Erasmus Programme until May 2023, when our final project ends.
What is the Turing Scheme?
Generally speaking, the Turing Scheme is being introduced to replace the UK's participation in the Erasmus Programme. The Scheme will be launched in 2021 for an initial funding period of September 2021 to August 2022. The Scheme offers funding to UK universities to support outgoing students on study exchange and work placements abroad. There is no funding to support incoming students or incoming/outgoing staff under the Scheme, in contrast to the Erasmus Programme.
How can students access funding?
- Students due to participate in International Exchange in 2021/22 will be contacted once we know the outcome of our Turing Scheme application (estimated July 2021)
- Students looking to undertake a work placement outside of Erasmus Programme countries BUT within the framework of their degree (ie Languages, Industrial Placement, Project students in Chemistry or Engineering) should contact their Go Abroad Tutor in the first instance.
- Students looking to undertake a work placement outside of Erasmus Programme countries AND outside the framework of their degree (ie summer/graduate work placements) should join the Go Abroad Mailing List to be keep informed of application opportunities.
