Sports and Recreation

Sports Union

Aberdeen University Sports Union is home to over 50 Sports Clubs, winning medals in many sports. The University has an excellent record in The Granite City challenge, the largest multi-sport event in Aberdeen, competing against local rivals Robert Gordon University. The Students Association organises a wide range of non-competitive clubs, intra-mural leagues and one-off physical activity events. Some of our students have competed in the Commonwealth Games, the Paralympics and many other national and international competitions.

Sport and Exercise

Based at Aberdeen Sports Village, the Sport and Exercise Team are a University department providing professional support - such as strength and conditioning - to our sports clubs, performance programmes, and bursary and scholarship students. They work in collaboration with the Sports Union, ASV, and our academic colleagues in Sports Science.

Aberdeen Sports Village

Aberdeen Sports Village and Aquatics Centre is open to all students and has state of the art facilities including a full size, 3rd Generation FIFA approved indoor football pitch, 50 metre, 10 lane Olympic standard swimming pool and fitness suite.
