Saltire Scholarship

Scotland’s Saltire Scholarships (SSS) is a substantial programme of scholarships, offered on a matched funding basis between the Scottish Government and Scottish universities.

The scheme offers up to 100 awards, each worth £4,000. These are towards the tuition fees, for any one year of full time study, on an Undergraduate, Masters or PhD course at the University of Aberdeen. The scholarships are open to student from Canada, China, India, Pakistan and the United States of America.

China Scholarship Council (CSC) Scholarship

Summary

The CSC Scholarship is a scholarship programme for Chinese PhD students, who will take a full PhD at the University of Aberdeen.

Description

The CSC Scholarship is open to Chinese nationals wishing to study for a full-time PhD in any discipline at the University of Aberdeen. Applicants apply to the CSC for a monthly stipend as well as international airfares. The University provides successful applicants with a tutition waiver scholarship.

Criteria

  • Applicants must be citizens of the People’s Republic of China at the time of application. 
  • Applicants for a full PhD programme must have a Master’s degree and must be under the age of 35. 
  • The relevant academic entry requirements must be fulfilled, including a high level of English language proficiency and a Master's degree. 
  • Applicants must hold an offer of acceptance from the University of Aberdeen
  • Applicants should satisfy the CSC selection criteria by completing the CSC Application Form and the CSC Employer Reference Form. 
  • CSC scholars must return to China upon completion of their research.

The James Henry Scott Scholarship

Applications are invited for the James Henry Scott Scholarship, starting in September 2017 (the academic year 2017/18).

Description

The scholarship will cover:

- Full International Postgraduate Tuition Fees for the 2017/18 academic year

- A maintenance award of £12,180.

Eligibility

 The scholarship is open to candidates who satisfy the following conditions:

- Students must be commencing a one-year Master of Science degree (MSc) in one of the following degree programmes at the University of Aberdeen in September 2017:

MSc Environmental Science

MSc Environmental Management

MSc Environmental Pollution and Remediation

MSc Environmental and Ecological Sciences

MSc Environmental and Forest Management

- Students must be from the People's Republic of China, or Hong Kong.  Students must be coming to study at the University of Aberdeen directly from the People’s Republic of China or Hong Kong. Please note that applicants currently domiciled in the UK will not be considered.

Criteria 

The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit.
