Each year, the University of Aberdeen enrols a number of international graduate students awarded a prestigious Chevening Scholarship. Chevening Scholarships are the UK government’s global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations. The programme makes awards to outstanding scholars with leadership potential from around the world to study postgraduate courses at UK universities.



Elphinstone PhD Scholarships

The University of Aberdeen is again offering scholarships for high-achieving students looking to begin a PhD programme. Students can be resident in Scotland/EU, rest of UK, and international. Students receiving an Elphinstone PhD Scholarship will have their fees waived for each year of their PhD. For more information, please visit the Elphinstone Scholarship website.

International Undergraduate Scholarship

As part of our commitment to attracting the very best students to join our diverse international community, we are delighted to offer the University of Aberdeen International Undergraduate Scholarship. This scholarship is worth one year’s tuition fee and is open to all international undergraduate students studying for 4 years or more at the University of Aberdeen (excludes Medicine). 

What does this mean?

  • If you are an international student entering into an undergraduate degree programme of at least four years duration we will offer you a scholarship equivalent to the tuition fee for your fourth year (excludes medicine)

Horn Family Scholarship/ICAS Foundation Programme

This scholarship is for students doing Accountancy, Finance or Management (single or joint honours) who attended North East Scotland College or certain schools across Aberdeen and the wider area. Students should preferably be in third year of their undergraduate degree.
