Angolan students wishing to study our energy-related courses can apply for a fully-funded sponsorship scheme offered by the National Angolan Oil Company, Sonangol. Whilst these are highly competitive, they are still worthwhile applying for if you meet the relevant criteria.

Further details can be found on Sonangol's website.

Esso Angolan Scholars Program

The Esso Angolan Scholars Program, administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE), is a fully-funded scholarship open to Angolan students to pursue a Master’s degree in the geosciences. Eligible applicants will have a Bachelor’s degree in geosciences (or a related field) from an institution in the UK or the U.S. before the Master’s program begins in the fall of 2015. Additionally, top applicants will be selected to attend a short course in Houston with IIE and ExxonMobil. There would be no obligation (or contract) to ExxonMobil to attend the short course and it would be a great learning and development opportunity for the student. Scholarship recipients will receive full tuition, housing and living expenses, medical insurance as well as academic and visa support.

The application deadline is Monday 18 October 2014. More information about the scholarship and the online application can be found on our website at www.iie.org/EssoAngolanScholars.
