Parking and Travel

Please note - there is no parking available on campus on Offer Holder Day.

By car

Parking

There is no parking on the university campuses on Offer Holder Day. Visitors are advised to travel by public transport.  There are also car parks around the city and buses can be used to travel to the campuses.

Blue Badge holders are able to park on campus without a permit 7 day a week. Blue badges must be clearly displayed.

By train

Aberdeen Train Station

Aberdeen train station is a 10 minute bus ride from the University's main (King's College) campus or a 25 minute walk. The University also often runs complimentary shuttle buses in the morning of Open Days and return buses at the end of the day. Please see the Offer Holder Day guide, when it is available, for shuttle bus info. 

Getting to the campus

From the train station, you can get the number 1 or 2 First bus service to King Street; on the edge of campus. Student Ambassadors will be available in the morning to guide you towards the bus station.

By air

Aberdeen International Airport is one of the fastest growing airports in the UK and has excellent travel links throughout the UK, Europe and further afield. It’s just a short taxi or bus ride from the airport to the University (around 6 miles).

From Aberdeen Airport the 727 bus service runs every 10 minutes to the city centre where you can get the number 1 or 2 bus. A taxi to the University will cost approximately £15 - £20.

City buses

Once you arrive in Aberdeen, you’ll discover it is pretty easy to find your way around. There are plenty of quick and direct bus routes all over the city.

Buses to King's College Campus

Stagecoach Bus

The number 60, 61, 62, 63, 67 and 68 Stagecoach buses run regularly from Union Square bus station and stop at King Street next to the campus. For more information on times and to plan your journey please visit the Stagecoach website.

Cash and card are both accepted. A single from Union Square to King Street is roughly £2.50

First Bus

The number 1, 1A, 2 and 20 First buses run every 7 minutes (or less during peak times) and go direct from various parts of the centre of town straight to the campus.

By coach

There are regular coach services which connect Aberdeen with the rest of the UK. You can find competitive return fares using various Travelcard Schemes which make bus travel popular with our students.

Shuttle Buses

Free shuttle buses will leave from the city centre outside Union Square. At the end of the day, buses will leave from campus back to Union Square. Look out for student ambassadors in red high-vis jackets who will direct you to the bus.

Please note the buses are often very busy, so please allow plenty of time to travel as you may have to wait for the next bus. 

Unfortunately, at this time the shuttle buses are not wheelchair accessible. There is blue badge parking available at both campuses and at Hillhead Student Village.

Hillhead Offer Holder Day Accommodation Offer

Why not book your accommodation for Offer Holder Day at the University’s accommodation.

We can offer single rooms at Hillhead Student Village for 1 or 2 nights if you’re coming to Aberdeen for the University’s Offer Holder Day on 24th April 2024.

Stay with us for only £30 per person per night (includes a continental breakfast*).  Rooms are all standard single in a 5 person flat with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities (each bedroom is lockable). The accommodation is only a 15 minute walk from the main campus and is ideal if you are under 18 and travelling alone.  We can also group families or those who are travelling together in the same flat.
