Meet our content creators

From first year students right through to alumni, our student content creators are here to enhance your student experience by passing on advice drawn from their own experiences. Whether you're a new student or a prospective student, they are here to let you know all about what it's like to study at UoA!

Dimas Riyo Kusumo

Greetings friends, my name is Dimas, from Indonesia. This is the second time I'm studying in the University of Aberdeen (UoA). I graduated from UoA's School of Law in 2011 with a degree in Master's on Oil and Gas Law. Now I'm enrolling a postgraduate student again, this time in Creative Writing as I have always loved anything that has to do with creative work. I want my second time around in the UoA to be more involved in creative activities and I'm hoping that by becoming part of the University's content creator team I can help create wonderful contents with my fellow team members that will help and inspire students and potential students alike.

Hi! I'm May, a 4th year English Literature and Creative Writing student. I obviously love reading and writing and I've been blogging for myself since I was in high school. In my spare time, I love going for coffee or drinks with my friends and listening to music. I wanted to join the Content Creator team because now that I'm in my final year I've realised that I haven't made as much of my time at university as I probably could have, so I hope to help others make more of their time here like I wish I did.

Julia Stasova

Hi! I’m Julia, a first year Psychology student originally from Slovakia. I am an artsy soul loving to do some music, drinking way too much coffee with friends or a book in hand, and extending my culinary skills. I’ll never get enough of travelling, hiking and running in nature where I can switch off my mind, and of course, watching sunsets. Studying abroad is definitely a challenge for me and therefore I would like to make the most of this experience!

Hello hey hi! My name is Georgia and I'm a third year biomed student. When I am not studying anatomy or binge watching Gilmore Girls (cheesy I know) I like reading books, drawing, writing and watching anime. I also like baking, playing ukulele and taking photos of every single puppy or tree that I see while walking. I look forward to sharing some of my experience with y'all.

Helina Dearsley

My name is Helina and I am 20 years old and I'm a third year student studying Politics and Sociology. I adore traveling to new places and experiencing different cultures and when I finish university I plan to go traveling for a year or so. I also have keen interests in reading (especially about Politics) and writing and would love to use this opportunity to further my skills in writing blogs. I also very much enjoy cooking, surfing and spending time with my friends.

Megan Donoher

Hi, I'm Megan and I'm originally from North Wales (no I can't pronounce the name of the super long town). I'm a third year MA English student so I'm your gal for the best book recommendations. I'm passionate about travelling, music and anything written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge. You'll usually find me with a coffee in my hand while I'm writing or editing - I'd love to go into publishing / journalism in the future. I crave the freedom and self-expression that writing gives me so I'm excited to be on the content creator team!

Lacey Wetzel

I am a postgraduate student studying for my Master's in Environmental Pollution and Remediation. I hold a BS in Marine Science and a minor in Chemistry. I have travelled to 15 different countries. Some of my hobbies are photography, genealogy, and baking, but enjoy other activities such as kayaking, rafting, kickboxing, indoor rock climbing, etc. I love being out on boats breathing in the salty sea air. My professional aspiration is to play a important role in the clean up or debris and other contaminants from our environment.

Sofia Klemola

Hi! My name is Sofia and I’m in my 2nd year studying Exercise and Health Science. I’m interested in cooking, maintaining a healthy – but definitely a balanced – lifestyle as well as learning new skills in general. I can get excited over the tiniest things, for example oreos being on sale. I’ve also danced for quite a few years, so sometimes I end up having my own happy improv sessions in my room after a good day.

Adele Makstniece

I am a third year Psychology student at the university of Aberdeen with a passion for traveling, social media, the outdoors, cinematography and everything people related. I had the chance to take on an exciting role last year as an ambassador for the Foreign and Commonwealth office campaign "travel aware" where I wrote and published articles about safe traveling and took part in university events. My role as the ambassador was cut short when the pandemic started and I'd like to have the chance to pick up content creation and sharing with others again.

Kezia Campbell-Erskine

I am an Attorney-at-Law and 2021/2022 Chevening Scholar from Guyana who will be pursuing an LLM in Energy and Environmental Law at UoA. Moving from Georgetown to Aberdeen is daunting but I look forward to the journey ahead. I chose UoA for a plethora of reasons including the comprehensive student services and high student satisfaction ratings. My objective is to share my experiences over the next year with the hope of answering questions and quelling the fears that current and prospective students may have about studying at UoA and living in Aberdeen.
