Want to win a Sunrise alarm clock or Wireless Headphones? To be in with a chance, here’s what you have to do:

  2. Take the welcome quiz 

You need to complete both steps to be in with a chance to win. The competition closes at 3pm on Tuesday, 11 February 2025, and entrants must be a registered UoA student.

The winner will be contacted via their University email address and get first choice of prize, with the runner-up receiving the remaining prize.

Terms & Conditions

  1. The University of Aberdeen's Welcome competition is being held by the University of Aberdeen which is a charity registered in Scotland No. SC013683 and with its registered address at King's College, Aberdeen, AB24 3FX, (“UoA”).

  1. The competition is open to registered students at the University of Aberdeen, excluding UoA employees and Alumni.

  1. To be in with a chance of winning, entrants must:

  • Follow @StudentLifeUoA on Instagram or Facebook

  • Complete the Welcome quiz and get a score of 9 points

  1. By submitting an entry to the competition, the participant gives the University of Aberdeen permission to use the entry for marketing activities including but not limited to - sharing on social media and within general communications, inclusion in video content and printing.

  1. The competition will close on 11 February 2025, 3pm GMT.

  1. One winner and one runner-up will be selected by the Experience, Engagement & Wellbeing team. The winner will get first choice of prize (Sunrise Alarm Clock or Wireless Headphones), with the runner-up receiving the remaining prize.

  1. The prize must be collected within 2 weeks of the competition closing date, and the winner will be required to show a valid student ID card when collecting the prize.

  1. The winner is required to collect the prize in person from the the EEW team in the Students' Union Building.

  1. The winner may be requested to take part in promotional prize activity and UoA reserves the right to use the name and location of the winners, their photographs, audio and/or visual recording of them in relation to any competition publicity or for the UoA's marketing purposes. By entering the competition, you agree that if awarded one of the prizes you will co-operate with all reasonable publicity purposes if so requested.

  1. The UoA's decision will be final and binding, and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into regarding the conduct or outcome of the competition.

  1. The UoA reserves the right in its reasonable discretion: to disqualify any competitor whose conduct is in breach of the Rules or contrary to the spirit of the Rules or the intention of the competition, and to declare any entries void.

  1. By entering this competition you agree that the UoA shall have no liability for any printing, production and/or distribution errors (including but not limited to any errors in UoA, this website or any printed materials) or where there have been any errors in any aspect of the preparation for or conduct of the competition materially affecting the result of the competition.

  1. Subject to Condition 3 above, any personal data submitted by you in your entry to this competition will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and UoA student privacy policy.

  1. The UoA reserves the right to amend or waive any of these Rules or cancel the competition at any time.
