University of Aberdeen Founders' Day Chapel Service

University of Aberdeen Founders' Day Chapel Service
-

This is a past event

On Founders' Day we pay tribute to our historic origins as an ancient University and celebrate the support of our benefactors over the centuries including Bishop Elphinstone.

The service will be conducted by University Chaplain, Rev Marylee Anderson, and a Homily will be provided by Rt Rev. Hugh Gilbert from the Roman Catholic Diocese of Aberdeen.

The Service will be followed by a light sandwich lunch reception in James McKay Hall, King’s College Conference Centre from 1:15pm-2:00pm, which will provide an opportunity to get together with fellow supporters and friends of the University.

You will also be able to view our very special Reciprocation Book which recognises those who remembered the University in their Will. This treasured book can usually be found in the Special Collections Centre within the Sir Duncan Rice Library.

If you would like to attend this service in-person booking is essential so click here to book before Monday 8th May.

If attending in person please note that all guests should be seated by 12.05pm at the latest.

The service will be live-streamed online for anyone unable to attend in person, a link to join will be added to this page closer to the time. The recording of the service will also appear on the University's YouTube channel following the service if you cannot watch it live.

Once you have booked your space you will receive a confirmation email that will contain more information about the event, but please do contact us if you have any further queries at this stage.
