Collections Conversations: Highland Threads

Collections Conversations: Highland Threads
-

This is a past event

'Highland Threads' is a collaboration between 14 museums from across the Highlands. The virtual exhibition, which launched on 1 April, showcases a costume from each museum's collection alongside stories of the people who made the cloth, who wore the clothes and where they were produced. A 360° video presentation of each costume, alongside close up shots of stitching, pattern and texture, aims to provide an experience close to viewing the item in real life. Find out more at this event.

UoA Collections is delighted to invite Nicola Henderson, Innovation and Network Manager for Museums and Heritage Highland and Heritage Specialist for XpoNorth, along with Daniel Cottam, Museum Manager at Grantown Museum and Chair of Museums and Heritage Highland, to showcase the Highland Threads exhibition.

They will discuss the considerations made when deciding how to best present the objects and tell their stories and how they were tied into the overall aims of the project.

There will be a Q&A after the presentation.
