Join Dr Malcolm Harvey for an open, honest and thought- provoking conversation about mental health, wellbeing, and the realities of postgraduate research.

Drawing on personal experiences and reflections from his academic career, Malcolm will explore the human side of doing a PhD - including the challenges, pressures and uncertainties that can come with research, as well as the importance of finding sustainable ways to work, manage expectations and look after your wellbeing along the way.

Held in a supportive and informal environment, the session will encourage open conversations about wellbeing in academia and what we can do to create healthier, more positive research environments. It will offer valuable insights and opportunities for reflection for PGRs at every stage of their research journey.

There will be plenty of opportunities for questions, discussion, and networking throughout the session.

The PGR CommuniTea series provides a platform for postgraduate researchers (PGRs) and their supervisors to engage in discussions dedicated to exploring key themes shaping the PGR experience whilst connecting and building the PGR community.

This series is open to all postgraduate researchers, and PGR supervisors, regardless of their field or stage in their research journey. Whether you are just starting out or nearing the completion of your degree, you will find valuable insights, social and networking opportunities through these sessions.
