Thank you to all of this year's Sabbatical Officers! On their last day in office we were delighted to share the news that Student Societies will no longer pay fees when booking rooms at set times, after the University of Aberdeen acted on a campaign led by Student President Lawson Ogubie.
"I am happy to have worked with the University to remove room booking fees for students. This will enable Societies and Clubs to organise all the wonderful events beneficial to our student community" - President Lawson Ogubie
Neil McLennan, a lecturer at the University of Aberdeen attended a prestigious conference at the Palace of Versailles this month, to share the story of a Scot who influenced one of the world's most famous peace treaties - exactly 100 years after it was signed.
Neil shared the story of a little-known farmer’s son from Aberdeenshire, whose expertise on the labour market helped to shape the workers’ rights enshrined in the Treaty of Versailles, to reflect the belief that universal and lasting peace can be accomplished only if it is based on social justice.
