Part-time Study

The progression requirements for part-time students are outlined below, please read these carefully.  

Please note part-time study is not permitted for Student Visa holders.

If you do not satisfy the progression requirements we will contact you directly.

Entry to Programme Year 2

A minimum of 90 credit points. Ideally you should have 120 credit points. As a part-time student you have 8 half-sessions (or 2 academic years) from your entry to programme year 1 to achieve this.

Entry to Programme Year 3

A minimum of 210 credit points to enter programme year 3 of a Designated or Non-Honours degree. Ideally you should have 240 credit points. As a part-time student you have 8 half sessions (or 2 academic years) from your entry to programme year 2 to achieve this.

OR

A minimum of 240 credit points to enter programme year 3 of an Honours degree. As a part-time student you have 8 half sessions (or 2 academic years) from your entry to programme year 2 to achieve this.

At the end of Programme Year 3 you may apply to graduate with a Designated or Non-Honours degree. To be eligible to do so you must achieve a minimum of 360 credit points and satisfy any additional requirements set out in the programme prescription.

Entry to Programme Year 4

A minimum of 330 credit points, including 240 credits at level 1 and 2 and passes in the compulsory courses, to upgrade from a Designated or Non-Honours degree. As a part-time student you have 4 half-sessions (or 1 academic year) from your entry to programme year 3 to achieve this.

OR

A minimum of 330 credit points, including those required for entry to programme year 4 for your degree. As a part-time student you have 4 half-sessions (or 1 academic year) from your entry to programme year 3 to achieve this as you are not permitted to repeat any part of your curriculum at Honours level.

Please note that students who do not meet the credit point requirements will be declared unsatisfactory in Honours by the Head(s) of School(s) and are encouraged to apply to graduate at the next available opportunity.
