Psalm: 17:26
Iconography: The psalmist is surrounded by a group of men, one of whom has a halo: With the holy, holy you will be. In his hands he bends a metal bow: You have made my arms like a bow of bronze. Dodwell interprets this gold band as a girdle, girt with strength (AP, 212). For a monk, the girdle represented chastity.
