The Session and Programme Commencement Task and Finish Group has been set up to oversee planning and operational requirements for the commencement of the academic session 2020/21, and for students joining the University and commencing study at different entry points and in different study modes.  The Group will set up workstreams to focus on specific areas of activity.

Terms of reference

The Session and Programme Commencement Task and Finish Group has been set up to oversee planning and operational requirements for the commencement of the academic session 2020/21. 

Specifically, the SPCTFG will:

  • Ensure the clear communication of arrangements for the commencement of the academic year to all stakeholders, including staff, continuing students and prospective new students; 
  • Ensure that administrative arrangements are in place to support student registration and enrolment in accordance with revised dates and schedules; 
  • Ensure that administrative arrangements are in place for courses and programmes of study with revised or new start dates;  
  • Ensure that the systems and processes associated with implementing dual entry points are in place, including registration, timetabling, induction and transition; 
  • Coordinate decision-making as to the timing and form of communication of entry point options to offer holders when appropriate; 
  • Co-ordinate the communication of logistical arrangements in respect of student access to campus facilities, including student accommodation services; and 
  • Ensure that new students are fully supported in their transition to study during pre-enrolment, including preparation for study and induction.
