Teaching and Learning Online

There are many resources available to help with delivering teaching remotely. Below are some of the tools that can be used. Please download the MyAberdeen Contingency Plan document in the Resources section below for more detailed information.

Blackboard Collaborate

Blackboard Collaborate is available on MyAberdeen and can be used to teach remotely in a live session (limit 1,000 students).  An overview of Collaborate is available on Toolkit.  Our Quick Guide for Original course areas explains how to add it to your course menu.  It is available by default on Ultra course areas.  Further information on the functionality is available:

  • Connection problems: UK helpline on 0800 051 7248 (or from Ireland call 1 800 64 4528; for international calls: 1.606.274.2370)
  • Step-by-step instructions
  • Toolkit Resource
  • If Collaborate is unavailable, MS Teams is the alternative
  • Accessibility - the same provisions as a face-to-face class should be implemented

Panopto is available to pre-record learning materials by downloading the software at home.  Our Toolkit page explains how to add videos to your course area on MyAberdeen.  Further information on the functionality is available:
