The award-winning Project SEARCH team at the University of Aberdeen has been selected to present a Lunch 'N' Learn event by Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce.
“Spotlight on Project SEARCH” will take place on 15 March in Waterloo Quay, Aberdeen and aims to encourage even more local businesses to become involved in the programme.
Heather Crabb, who is the Employer Partner Co-ordinator for the project at the University said: “This event is a fantastic opportunity for members of the local business community to find out more about this inspirational project, and hopefully become part of our team by mentoring one of our interns, delivering workshops or providing us with advice from a business perspective. Our interns are looking forward to the event and will be on hand to showcase their portfolios and talents to a wide range of prospective employers”.
Professor Neva Haites, Vice Principal, who will be co-hosting the event with Mrs Anne O’Bryan, Project SEARCH European Program Co-ordinator said: “I am delighted that our proposal was selected by the Chamber and I’m very grateful to our partner, Aberdeenshire Council, for sponsoring our attendance at it. The Chamber has been very supportive of the project and I am looking forward to our first large-scale event in partnership with them. This event gives us a platform to reach out to members of the local business community we otherwise would not have been able to engage with - I hope that the dedication and enthusiasm of our Project SEARCH team and our interns encourages them to support the valuable work we are doing”.
Further information about the event is available on the Chamber’s website.
