2021/22 Parking Update
Following the suspension of parking charges during the pandemic we will be reintroducing parking charges from Monday 4th October 2021.
Parking charges are £1 for daily payments and £18.33 for monthly payments from salary.
You can continue to use existing daily vouchers until 31st December 2021.
If you made a payment for parking from your salary in March 2020 this will be carried forward to cover parking in October 2021.
A new electronic (app and web) payment system, provided by Horizon Parking, will be introduced for daily payments.
To reduce paper waste and make using our car parks easier, staff permits will become virtual, so you won’t need to display anything in your vehicle.
As personal and working circumstances have changed for many people during the pandemic, parking registrations will not automatically renew this year. The database will be cleared, and we are asking everyone to register again from Monday 13th September 2021.
To park at the University you must register your vehicle on the car parking database.
You can register online at: http://www.abdn.ac.uk/estates/supportservices/permits/.
You can also use the database to update your details at any time during the year.
The changes being made to our parking payment and management systems will be reviewed over the next three months to inform retendering of these systems in 2022.
Annual Permits (monthly payments from salary)
If you want to pay for your parking from your salary you should register for an annual permit on the parking database and complete a new payroll mandate, e-mailing it to estates@abdn.ac.uk. You will then receive confirmation of your virtual permit via e-mail including when your payments will start and when your permit is valid from.
Daily Permits (daily payments via app or online)
If you want to pay for parking daily, you should register for daily parking on the parking database and make use of the new electronic payment system provided by Horizon Parking. You can use the Horizon Spaces app, downloadable from the Android or Apple store, or use the website at: www.horizonspaces.co.uk. You can continue to use any vouchers you have until 31st December 2021. Whole sheets of unused, expired vouchers can be exchanged by contacting: estates@abdn.ac.uk.

- Annual permits are valid from the date shown in the confirmation e-mail.
- A Parking Charge Notice (PCN) of £60 will be issued to any unauthorised vehicle parked in contravention of the regulations.
Reminders:
If you are expecting a visitor please ensure they are aware of the parking regulations and arrange a visitor permit if required. Please contact the Sacrist if you are arranging a conference and are expecting a large number of conference delegates to be arriving by car; visitor permits should not be used for conferences.
