VPN service interruption and changes to login

The VPN remote access service - which allows you to access your H drive, shared drives and campus PC from off campus - will be unavailable from 8pm on Wednesday 11 November until 7am on Thursday 12 November.

This is to allow for a security upgrade and affects all users of the service. The VDI service will still be available.

What should you do?

Please save your work and disconnect from the VPN before 8pm on 11 November. Please do not login again until 7am on Thursday 12 November.

What changes will I see in the service?

After the upgrade, the next time you sign into the VPN, you will be required to sign into your Microsoft Office 365 account using your username@abdn.ac.uk (e.g. s99jb7@abdn.ac.uk) and password.

If your Office 365 account has been enabled for Multi-factor Authentication (MFA), you will be asked for additional authentication.

You will then be prompted to log into the VPN, as before, using your username (e.g. s99jb7) and password and ticking the box for Workplace Lite.
