Student Update - 17 March 2020
Dear students,
Following our earlier communications regarding social distancing and the suspension of face to face teaching, it is now necessary for the University to reduce some of the services we usually offer in order to further protect our community.
At 5pm this evening:
- the Medical and Taylor Libraries will be closed until further notice
- The Sir Duncan Rice Library will remain open until 5pm on Friday (March 20) and will close at 8pm on Wednesday (March 18) and Thursday (March 19)
- More information on the library closures can be found here.
Today, all University catering outlets closed until further notice, with the exception of those based at Hillhead to support the catered residents.
Student Resident Assistants will continue to operate a telephone service from Hillhead to support the residents. You can contact them on 01224 274030 or email them using residentassistants@abdn.ac.uk.
The Government is telling us that Covid-19 will have long-term implications for the UK, and at the moment we do not know when normal services on our campuses will resume, but we should all expect this to be for the long haul.
We understand these are extremely testing times, and support for students remains available via remote channels. Full details of support services can be found here. Please note, that these pages are being updated regularly with more resources.
I would like to thank you all for the support we have received so far during this difficult period. We will continue to update you with developments, and update our FAQs which are available here. If your questions are not answered there, then please contact coronavirus@abdn.ac.uk.
Best wishes,
Karl & Ruth
