A talk and film screening of The Thing.

Join us for a special showing of the John Carpenter classic interpretation of The Thing which celebrates its 35th anniversary this year. This bloody horror film touches on many themes including disease, paranoia, plague and infestation of our bodies. Dr John Baird from the School of Biological sciences at the University of Aberdeen will introduce the film with a short talk entitled: Planet Parasite - A Short Exploration of Sex, Bigotry, Plagues and Delusions; and why you and I are much more disgusting than a bucket full of tapeworms!

This event is run by the Aberdeen British Science Association Branch as part of the Festival of Social Science in Aberdeen.

Admission for this event is £6/£4 members. Booking is required.
