Biography: Son of William James Gibson and Edith Mary Gibson, of Balmoral, Belfast ; born N. Ireland, 1923 ; educated at the Royal Belfast Academical Institution. He attended classes for the Air Training Corps at the University and then joined the Royal Air Force. He lost his life on 29 December 1943 when he was reported missing as pilot of an aircraft engaged in a search for another plane over the Bristol Channel.
