Gordon, Robert, of Straloch
Biography: Cartographer, mathematician, composer, poet and geographer. Born Kinmundy, Aberdeenshire 1580. Educated in Aberdeen, and is noted as the first graduate of Marischal College,1597. Travelled to Paris 1598. Returned to Scotland by June 1601 and purchased the estate of Straloch. Justice of the Peace for Aberdeenshire 1636. Asked by Charles I in 1641 to alter and correct Timothy Pont's proof maps of various shires of Scotland for inclusion in Blaeu's Theatrum Orbis Terrarum.
