About ABZWISE
ABZWISE is an opportunity for women to enhance their personal professional development in a unique way by providing space to network, strengthen and develop new skills. Time out to work on their career and professional aspirations. As part of the October pilot ABZWISE, there were be presentations, discussions, activities, mentoring and networking opportunities throughout.
ABZWISE is based on the highly successful model of EnterpriseWISE ran by the Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (CfEL) at the University of Cambridge. CfEL has, for many years, ran customised enterprise programmes for Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) and have found those programmes to be highly impactful and uniquely different from mixed gender enterprise programmes for the following reasons:
- Stronger networks developed
- Greater outreach
- Deeper levels of support
- Inspiring to new generations
- Support science and technology business driven by female entrepreneurs.
We want to bring these benefits to Scotland, the North East and the University of Aberdeen as part of a strategy to strengthen and extend the impact of women with STEM expertise, specialism and experience.
We look forward to future events here at the University of Aberdeen.
