Spanish and Latin American Film Club: Screening of El laberinto del fauno (Pan's Labyrinth)
-

This is a past event

We will hold the first screening of the newly launched Spanish and Latin American Film Club on Wednesday February 1, co-organised by the Spanish and Latin American Society and the Department of Spanish and Latin American Studies.

We will watch El laberinto del fauno (Pan's Labyrinth), directed by Guillermo del Toro (poster attached). Dr Rodrigo López Martínez and student representatives from the Spanish and Latin American Society will be in charge of presenting the Film Club and introducing the film. The screening will take place at NK 11 (New King's) from 6pm until 9pm.

Throughout the semester, the Film Club will organise a monthly screening of a film in Spanish with English subtitles. The purpose is to bring together students from across the university, and help those studying Spanish and Latin American Studies to acquire relevant knowledge and improve their language skills by watching films from both Spain and Latin America. Screenings will typically include an introduction to the film by a member of the Department, and will be followed by a discussion among the attendees.
