The evening talk comes after the digital transcription of local authority registers by a project at Aberdeen University. Dr Claire Hawes will discuss and give an overview of the texts. It will focus on the importance of these books in the understanding of early Renaissance Scotland and will also introduce some of the characters and stories that have been uncovered along the way.
This is a joint lecture with the Scottish History Society. Hosted by the University’s Museums and Special Collections at the Regent Lecture Theatre, Tues 15th January 2019 at 7.30pm. For more information, please contact scc.events@abdn.ac.uk
