Embedding Skills in the Curriculum: The Scottish Innovative Student Award (SISA)
History of Art’s MLitt Art & Business is the first programme within the School of Divinity, History & Philosophy to achieve accreditation from the Scottish Innovative Student Award scheme (SISA). The three-tier Award recognises students’ enterprise skills (such as creativity, communication and collaboration), which already exist in academic courses at Level 1 and then builds upon this to enhance students’ creative potential at Level 2 through a national one-day workshop, and entrepreneurial-based activity at Level 3. The initiative is offered nationally by the Scottish Institute for Enterprise (SIE) and aims to raise the profile of enterprise learning, assisting students to develop attributes and skills for the ever-changing employment landscape.
Academics interested in this curriculum-based skills initiative are encouraged to contact Dr Joy Perkins, Institutional SISA contact at the Centre for Academic Development (j.perkins@abdn.ac.uk).
