New Testament Greek Reading Group

New Testament Greek Reading Group
-

This is a past event

During the spring term we will be reading a selection of texts from the undisputed letters of Paul. The schedule of readings is designed to give attendees exposure to several passages central to descriptions of the Apostle Paul’s thought (including his view of the sacraments) and to reconstructions of the historical circumstances of his ministry. The selected texts will also illustrate a variety of interpretative implications of Koine Greek grammar and syntax. Our emphasis will be on detailed analysis over quantity of coverage.

The group will meet on Wednesdays, 9:00a–10:00a, in the ground-floor seminar room of the Humanity Manse (HMG1). Our first meeting will be on 22 January, and the group will meet every Wednesday thereafter through 25 March. Please come to the first meeting having prepared Galatians 3:16-29.

All interested students with at least elementary-level training in Greek are welcome. Any questions can be addressed to Dr J Thomas Hewitt at jthomas.hewitt@abdn.ac.uk.
