Item Description Skinner has written this 'stop' hornpipe out on a letter for his pupil, James MacPherson of Kirriemuir. The music only 'breathes' at the end of each eight bar section. Notice how Skinner has marked the articulation - you can see an example of his own flat slur at bar 2, and the number of bows to a bar (the numbers interspersed here and there). When he sent it to MacPherson, it was still unpublished. You can listen to Skinner playing this by clicking on the audio link (cd118b).
