Background to our study

Health experts tell us we should eat more fruit and vegetables and less meat, but meat (especially red meat) is rich in zinc, which your body needs for protein function. Vegetarians and vegans are at risk of zinc deficiency because the zinc levels in plant foods are lower and plant zinc is less easily absorbed.

In order to help solve this problem and increase dietary zinc intake, we have produced a super potato that contains much higher levels of absorbable zinc than normal using standard farming methods. We now want to test the health benefits of these potatoes, but we need your help!
