Life-course and Population Health
Nutrition plays an important role in shaping health from pre-conception to old age: our mission is to contribute to the evidence base for dietary policy at key life-stages. Thus we aim to understand the links between diet and physiology at a mechanistic level and in the context of the social influences driving dietary habits. The findings are translated and tested in real- life interventions appropriate for life-stage. This requires a better understanding of the complexity of dietary behaviour and the environmental impact of dietary choices to achieve dietary goals against a background of diverse social circumstances.
