Personalized Nutrition application on Nutrigenomics and Nutri(epi)genomics

Nutri(epi)genomics and Nutrigenetics are currently new frontier approach of personalized nutrition. Nutri(epi)genomics-aided research would provide a basis for dietary management of health prevention, eventually placing nutrients in the framework of individual genetic background. The virtual importance of gene-nutrient interactions on polygenic diseases (T2D, cardiovascular disease, obesity, cancer, etc) is still at a very early stage as well as the understanding of the complexity of genetic regulation mechanisms, including redundancy of pathways and the role of epigenetic modifications. Our research group is developing several applications about in silico analysis of biomarekrs related with nutrition and health. Proposed topic title: “Development of Personalized Nutrition strategy based on microbiota - Nutri(epi)genomics and biomarkers research at Molecular Nutrition Lab in Cluj”
