Anthropology Seminar Series Speaker invited by Knowing From the Inside Project to talk about his project related research:-
Professor Nicola Perullo, PhD, Associate Professor of Aesthetics; Food Philosophy and Aesthetics of Taste, University of Gastronomic Sciences, Pollenzo, Bra (Cn) Italy
Experiencing Food as a case of Knowing from the Inside:
1) Taste as Experience
2) Is Cooking an Art? A Philosophy of Culinary Passion
3) Epistoenology. Wine and the Creativity of Touch
Food studies are trendy. I believe, however, that even in this “golden age” food is too often misunderstood. In fact, food and gastronomy are taken as object and activity strengthening classical prejudices – about taste, about cooking, about what is really at stake in liking/disliking/appreciating. I will present my recent research following my latest two books and my next one to arrange possible trails, connections and correspondence with “Knowing from the Inside” project.
This project is a research theme related to the KFI project. The talks will be held on Thursdays in room F61 Edward Wright Building from 15.00-17.00 unless otherwise noted.
