Job Description
You will work with the General Practice and Community Medical Education (GPCME) team as a Clinical Senior Lecturer; Year 2 GP Lead. The post holder’s main responsibilities will encompass GP curriculum development for Year 2 of the MBChB course, teaching, assessment, recruitment and line management of team members, pastoral care of students and evaluation of teaching.
There has been a significant increase in the amount of General Practice teaching in the Curriculum, and we continue to develop novel ways of delivering that. The post holder will be expected to contribute to this.
The successful candidate would be required for two sessions each week. This teaching takes place on a Tuesday, which would be the most suitable day for the post holder to work. The post occasionally requires flexible working.
Applicants should be General Practitioners working in a General Practice or Community Care setting. The successful candidate should have experience in teaching. Postgraduate teaching qualifications, Teaching/medical education qualifications, are desirable. Experience of teaching development and implementation would be desirable, as would knowledge of the University of Aberdeen GP curriculum.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Clinical salary scale for GPs 20% of £103,242 per annum.
