The Department of Geography and Environment seeks to appoint a full time, fixed-term Lecturer (Scholarship) in Physical Geography. The post is tenable from May 1st 2021 (non-negotiable) until July 31st 2021 (3 months).

The principal duties of the role will be to contribute to the undergraduate and postgraduate taught Physical Geography curriculum, which given the time of year will be focused mainly on the supervision of student dissertations and assistance to other academic staff in the preparation of teaching materials for the next academic year. The post holder will also be expected to contribute to academic administrative duties.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in Physical Geography or a cognate discipline and be able to contribute to; the supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate taught dissertation projects and preparation of teaching materials for the upcoming academic year within the area of Physical Geography. Ideally, candidates will have experience of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and have the ability to respond enthusiastically and positively to students. Evidence of strong GIS skills is needed with the ability to teach and supervise student projects utilising this technique. Candidates should be able to work as part of a team and be willing to work collaboratively with colleagues in other disciplines in the School and University.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 7 salary scale (41,526 - £49,552 pro rata per annum) and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.
This role is based in the UK and as such the successful candidate will be required to live and work in the UK.
As this post is to cover a fixed-term teaching buyout and it will be available for 3 months from May 1st 2021 until July 31st 2021.
