The Language Centre plays a key role in supporting the University’s internationalisation strategy and as such welcomes students from all over the world. In 2019 we helped numerous students enter the University though our pathway programmes. Our pre-sessional courses are integral to that success.

We are looking for teaching professionals to join our team over the summer. There is a teaching load of 20 hours per week. This consists of online activity including seminars, webinars and tutorials, self-guided group activities, and individual tutorials. You will be expected to work from home.
On-line pre-sessional courses are either of a 10 weeks duration (29th June – 4th September) or 5 weeks (3rd August - 4th September). In both cases, candidates should be available the week before the courses start for induction days (25th - 26th June for 10 weeks tutors’ induction and 30th – 31th July 5 for weeks tutors’ induction).
You should be a graduate with a CELTA (or equivalent teaching qualification). Experience of teaching EAP on a Pre-sessional programme is advantageous, but candidates wishing to extend their experience to EAP will be considered. Candidates should have experience of working in teams and of working with learners from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Salary will be on Grade 5 spinal point 24 (£28,332 pro rata per annum plus a market supplement of £14 per hour).
