Research Fellow, Biological Sciences

A Research Fellow is sought to join a 3-year project funded by the EU InterReg Programme “Northtick”, a multidisciplinary Programme involving Institutes across the North Sea region addressing challenges in tick-borne disease risk-assessment, diagnosis and prevention. The aim of the Project is to develop novel approaches for the detection of infection and the identification of Borrelia genospecies (Lyme disease) and also to determine levels of tick vector challenge in hosts ranging from human to wild and companion animals. It will be underpinned by analysis of host-responses to the pathogen and vectors followed by the development of immune-diagnostic markers.
