Development & Alumni Relations is seeking to appoint a Community Stewardship Officer (part-time fixed-term maternity cover) to be part of our dedicated alumni engagement and fundraising team. This role will promote, co-ordinate and support community fundraising activities and income, focusing particularly on the stewardship of community donors, who may be alumni, staff, or members of the local community, offering advice and assistance, administrative support, the processing of gifts, acknowledging donations, and reporting back to donors on the impact of their support.
The primary purpose of this role is to promote, co-ordinate, and support community fundraising in aid of the University of Aberdeen Development Trust. Community fundraising comprises a wide range of fundraising activities (e.g. sporting challenges, special events, in memoriam collections and giving) undertaken by third parties – whether members of the local community, staff, students, or companies. This role is responsible for all aspects of donor-fundraiser care, including fundraising advice and assistance, administration, gift processing, gift acknowledgment, reporting, and stewardship. The role combines fundraising and stewardship activity with administrative duties. While based within the Alumni Relations & Regular Giving team, it will require close collaboration and excellent communication with the Advancement Services, Communications & Marketing, and Development teams.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 5 salary scale, £28,332- £31,865 per annum, pro rata.
The post is available for a fixed period of 9 months or on the return of the postholder from maternity leave if earlier.

This role is based in the UK and as such the successful candidate will be required to live and work in the UK.
