Generative AI and Applications: Next Steps

Generative AI and Applications: Next Steps

This is a past event

Diffusion processes are now among the most prevalent mathematical tools in machine learning (ML), demonstrating significant impact and success across various ML subfields, including generative models, sampling techniques, and nonconvex optimisation. The remarkable effectiveness of diffusion-based methodologies has generated considerable interest in their mathematical underpinnings and spurred the development of innovative diffusion-based algorithms. This rising prominence underscores an immediate need for fundamental research to thoroughly comprehend and evaluate the application of these tools in ML, particularly given their implementation in real-world scenarios. To address this pressing need, this workshop is designed to unite emerging talents, esteemed scholars, and industry experts with a dedicated focus on Generative AI applications. The event will facilitate a forward-looking discussion on the future of Generative AI.

This Open for Business event is linked to the INI programme on Diffusions in Machine Learning: Foundations, Generative Models and Non-Convex Optimisation and will take place within the International Workshop on Diffusions in Machine Learning: Foundations, Generative Models, and Optimisation. This hybrid event is developed in partnership with the Alan Turing Institute. It aims to provide a meeting ground to facilitate interactions and exchanges between representatives of academia, research and industry, relevant to the theme, with the objective of identifying points of mutual interest and possible co-activity.

The planned activities of the day include a session of talks from industry and academia based on the theme of Generative AI.
