A live online book launch brought to you as part of the 'Road to COP26' series.

Co-authored by Professor Gisele M. Arruda from the University of Aberdeen and Professor Lára Jóhannsdóttir from the University of Iceland, this book will detail the authors’ passion for the ecological, social, and economic changes that are taking place in the Arctic, the impact that the changes have on the Arctic people and ecosystems, and the role and responsibility of businesses in ensuring the sustainable development of the region.

Pre-COP26 Event in Milan, Italy

Pre-COP26 is the final official ministerial meeting ahead of COP26 and was hosted by Italy in Milan from 30 September to 2 October 2021.  Professor Gisele Arruda was there in-person with co-author Professor Lára Jóhannsdóttir from the University of Iceland to share insights and information about their research for the Italian Ministry of Ecological Transition under the program, All 4 Climate Italy 2021.

This presentation is based on the book Corporate Social Responsibility in the Arctic’, in co-authorship with Lara Johannsdottir by Routledge and on cases of corporate and commercial litigation related to climate change from the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Department of Clifford Chance LLP. 

Dr. Carolina Piovano is a member of the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Department of Clifford Chance LLP. She represents Italian and international clients in complex corporate and commercial litigation. Her experience includes a range of dispute types and business sectors, including energy, ESG and general corporate disputes. She is a member of the Clifford Chance Climate Change Working Group, focusing on advising clients on the climate change litigation risk.
