The United Nations Climate change conference, COP26, takes place this year between November 1-12 in Glasgow and offers a unique opportunity for the University of Aberdeen to shine on a global stage.
The University has created a co-ordinating task force to support activities both in the run up to COP26 and at the conference itself. This group is developing a University of Aberdeen COP26 plan with a number of key actions and policy engagement activities essential for positioning the University’s work alongside other leading HE institutions from across the UK.
How is the University of Aberdeen supporting COP26?
Research and innovation from the University can contribute to important discussions and negotiations taking place in the run up to COP26 and during the summit in Glasgow later this year. We want to highlight the best climate-related research outputs from the University on the global stage.
We also want to celebrate our ambitious sustainability commitments made in Aberdeen 2040 and explore opportunities to highlight the advances made to date in delivering on our learning, discovery and actions in the area of environment, bio-diversity and climate change.
