Course Overview

This is an introductory course which looks at different ways of understanding and analysing texts. The course will equip students with tools to analyse their own academic writing as well as apply these skills to different types of texts

Course Description

This course will:

  • increase students' awareness of the relationship between text and meaning
  • increase students' awareness of how elements of style manisfest themselves in texts
  • Increase students' awareness of cohesion and coherence in texts
  • Develop students' ability to analyse texts
